The tractor, or construction vehicle, is equipped with two drive pedals (10, 13), one for each direction of travel, and operated sequentially using a safety interlock. When travelling on normal roads a safety interlock is operated (21) to lock the reversing mode of the pedals i.e. to block the reverse pedal. If the vehicle is to be reversed then the locking lever is lifted while the reverse pedal is pressed, leaving the forward pedal blocked. The safety interlock prevents the driver inadvertently engaging the reversing gear. It is a simple device which can be fitted to most double pedal designs. The brake pedal is interlocked with the drive pedals, to move both pedals to neutral when braking.
|
