The end closure is intended for a cable installation having coolant, especially water, which is guided in the circuit for internal cooling of the conductor. The re-preparation of the coolant takes place in an installation which is at earth potential. A fluid insulating path is arranged between the high-voltage potential and earth potential. In order to ensure temperature limiting of the cooling fluid within the insulating path, which is used for potential bridging, even in the event of a disturbance and when the main circuit is stationary, the fluid insulating path for the coolant from the longitudinal channel (2) of the conductor (1) (main circuit) is allocated a further fluid insulating path, including an auxiliary circuit, which is at earth potential, for a coolant. In general, water is recommended as the coolant for both circuits. <IMAGE>
