<p>Automatic guidance of a vehicle with auto propulsion is provided by sensors on the vehicle which receive signals from a cable in the ground. Speed is increased by automatic reduction in sensitivity during changes of direction and by increasing the control zone. A vehicle is equipped with a motor which drives the rear wheels and a reversible motor which controls direction of a front wheel, through a reduction gear. Both motors are powered by a battery. Left and right sensor (6, 7) receive signals from a cable (4) supplied with ac. The error signal is amplified for the required direction to drive the steering motor. A cam on the steering drives a sensor to set amplifier gain for straight or winding track.</p> |
