Chromatographic apparatus is described in which gas (1) supplies a tubular column (3) through an injector (2). The column gas transports the material or solution to be analyzed. The column is heated either in an isothermal manner, or by temperature programming. A detector and recording system (1) is placed at the outlet from the column (3). The column contains an electrical resistance which comprises the healing element. The column is made from very thin-walled metal which ensures heating and cooling with almost zero thermal inertia, even at high program speeds.
