Toothed coupling with inserted teeth for shafts - has tooth seats in sleeves with contact faces at right angles

The toothed coupling is used to compensate axial misalignments between shafts. The teeth between in side and outside sleeve can be readily replaced. The flanged base of a tooth is held within inside sleeve and the tooth tip is held in outside sleeve. The teeth are readily made on a lathe and replaced by pushing them axially out of the axial grooves in sleeves. The coupling teeth (3) have curved flanks (3a) on the head. These flanks are at right angles to each other in every cross sectional plane. The tooth seats in the outside sleeve (1) have flat flanges (1a) at right angles to each other. The tooth base seats in the inner sleeve have contact faces (2a) also at right angles to each other.
