<p>The cutter is used for clearing brushwood and similar woody growths and has horizontally reciprocating blades (6) mounted at the front. These are powered by electrical storage batteries in a box (3) on the wheeled chassis (1), or by a supply from the mains. The cutters operate in a protective housing which is shaped to deflect the cut stems to one side. A wheel (9) supports the unit and adjusts the cutting height. The blades are driven by a motor (2) and gearbox (5) mounted at an adjustable angle (11) in the chassis, a clutch preventing overloading. The controls (13) are fitted on the handles (7) at the rear.</p> |
