The screw locking fastener enables a constant preloading to be produced in a certain region with a known precision whereby this preloading can be held constant independent of the torque applied when effecting the fastening. The fastener comprises a bolt (1) with a nut securing system (2) and a cylindrical securing ring positioned under the nut (4). The securing unit (2) has a radially deformable cylindrical mantle (3) running coaxially to the thread between a base flange (8) and a head flange (5). The mantle length to thickness ratio amounts to 4.0 to 5.0.
