1486378 A holder for a door S P SIMMONS 23 Jan 1975 [24 Jan 1974] 2981/75 Heading E2A A holder 10, Figs. 2 and 4, for mounting upon a door 14 and an associated door frame 18 comprises a latch plate 16, which may be mounted on the door 14 or on the frame 18 and which is provided with a hollow cylinder 39 having a 'T'-shaped opening 38 therein, a base 12 which may be mounted on the frame 18 or on the door 14, an intermediate link 20 which is slidably and pivotally mounted with respect to the base 12, and a latch link 32 which is pivotally connected at 30 to the intermediate link 20, the latch link 32 having a 'T'-shaped extension 36 engageable in the 'T-shaped opening 38 of the cylinder 39 and being provided with a handle 34. The base 12, having slots 24, 26 therein, is connected to the intermediate link 20 by a pivot-pin 22, is provided with stops 40, 42, and has a spring 28 secured thereto by a rivet 29. The spring 28 serves to urge the pin 22 to one end of the slots 24, 26 as shown in Fig. 4 or to the other end of the slots as shown in Fig. 2. The latch link 32 limits the opening movement of the door as shown in Fig. 4 and when disconnected from the cylinder 39 of the latchplate 16 as shown in Fig. 1, overlies the intermediate link 20 and, being positioned within the sides of the base 12, is engaged by the stops 40 and 42. In modifications a latch link has the 'T'- shaped opening and a latchplate has the 'T'- shaped extension, the stops 40, 42, Fig. 4, are replaced by a locking cover which facilitates locking of the door in its closed position, and the latch link 66, Fig. 9, and the intermediate link 64 are provided with slots 76, 78 respectively which can receive a lockpin 72, Fig. 8, therethrough to effect the locking of the closed door.
