Q-switched pulse laser with variable light flash sequence - has polariser and electro-optical switching cell in light path for e.g. rapid sequence photography

The Q-switched pulse laser of variable light flash sequence has a polariser and electro-optical switching cell in the light path. The laser consists of an active medium with resonator mirrors, pump lamp and control element. The control element consists of a delay unit (9) for starting pulses (12). Connected to it is a high power, h.v. rectangular pulse generator (10) operating the electro optical switching cell (4). A pump lamp (11) and power pack (8) are connected to the delay unit (9). Inversion density in the laser material is set at the beginning of light flash series and at the beginning of each following flash. A flash series of varying intensities can be rapidly generated by this circuit.
