A rotary sheet print machine has an impression cylinder supporting the sheets for movement past a printing cylinder and subsequent passage past a dryer before the sheets are taken off the impression cylinder. The diameter of the impression cylinder (41) may be large enough to accommodate several sheets. The sheets may be gripped by the impression cylinder at a point sufficiently far ahead of the printing cylinder to accommodate a dryer acting on the sheets before printing. The surface of the impression cylinder may be of mirror finish. The interior of the hollow impression cylinder may have cooling ribs.
