<p>1484820 Severing sheet material by tearing STANZTECHNIK GmbH RODER & SPENGLER 8 April 1975 [21 June 1974 23 Jan 1975] 14392/75 Heading B4B An apparatus for separating punched workpieces from waste material surrounding the workpieces along cut lines interconnected by narrow lands, comprises a support table 2 for the workpiece 6 mounted on a frame 3, a carriage 5 slidably mounted above the table on guide rails 7, 8, and a vertically movable wedge tool 10 connected to a drive means 14 on the carriage and having a free end 11 adapted to be moved into the cut lines in order to break or tear the interconnecting lands. The tool 10 is secured to the piston-rod 16 of a pneumatic cylinder device 14, the piston-rod and tool being rotatable about the axis of the rod by means of handles 25 in order to facilitate aligning the tool end 11 with the cuts; the cylinder 14 is coupled to the carriage by slidable guide 9. The correct height of the end 11 of the tool above the workpieces is sensed by a material contact foot 32 connected to the piston-rod 30 of a pneumatic cylinder device 28; a limit switch 33 is mounted on the opposite end 31 of the rod for co-operation with an abutment member 34 movable with the piston-rod 16 of the cylinder 14. An abutment 17 on the rod 16 co-operates with limit switches 18, 20 fixed to the cylinder 14. To assist separation of the workpieces, a pressure bar 45, Figs. 2 and 6, is movable by a pneumatic cylinder 48 and linkage 44 to lift the workpieces as shown in Fig. 6. The material is clamped during separation by a bar 39 actuated by pneumatic rams 41. Several wedge tools may be adjustably mounted on a bar (78), Figs. 7 and 8 (not shown), which is connected to the piston-rod 16.</p> |
