1417633 Edging strips DRAFTEX 4 Jan 1973 [28 Jan 1972] 526/73 Heading B5K [Also in Division E1] A method of making a flexible strip comprises forming transverse slits on a metal blank 1, thinning the unslit area 7a, 8a to form the slits into slots 9, and covering the blank with flexible covering material (10). The thinning is effected by rolling and the covering material extruded on. The strip may be bent to a U-shaped crosssection to form an edge protector or slideway. The strip is temporarily stretched to provide fractures (11, Fig. 9, not shown) in the thinned areas at the end of the slots and then released. The thinned areas may be positioned intermediate the width of the blank (Figs. 12-14, not shown). |
