<p>A textile tube, conical or cylindrical in form, and esp. of thermoplastic material, is intended for the processing of yarns and threads by heat and or fluid. The tube mantle which may be produced by extrusion blow moulding or deep drawing is covered by a series of alternate ribs and grooves, running spirally or lying along circular lines. The tube is thus, axially, and at least under the influence of heat, radially, elastically and plastically yielding, whilst retaining approximately, its sectional form. The tubes have a high degree of axial and if necessary, radial flexibility and suppleness, together with very good stability of form. They are suitable for the heat and/or fluid treatment of the yarn wound on, and are able to conform to alterations of the physical characteristics of the threads during treatment, whilst at the same time maintaining their stability and sectional form. The tubes are easy and cheap to make and have a wide range of applications.</p> |
