<p>Laundry appts. comprises washing machines for holding clothes and wash water with sufficiently high temp. for normal hot washing, and drier with heating means. In addition, a wash water heater reduces the total energy consumption which is normally required for operation of the washing machines and driers, and which absorbs (part) of the heat produced by the heater and accordingly heats the wash water to the above high temp. The water heater pref. comprises a water damming device which is associated with each drier to dam water to be heated. The damming device includes a cold water inlet and a hot water outlet, and is mounted close to the heater upstream of the drier clothes chamber relative to the hot gas current from the heater to the chamber.</p> |
