<p>The studs may be profiled and provided with means to improve road holding on icy roads. The studs have, at those lateral surfaces which are radial w.r.t. the tyre axis, a greater hardness than the stud material surrounded by these surfaces. Exceptionally good road holding whilst eliminating risk of damage to roads often encountered with prior-art "spiked" tyres is achieved.</p> |
