PURPOSE: A method for remotely controlling an avatar using a mobile communication terminal is provided to enable an originator to remotely control an avatar of a receiver through a mobile communication terminal, and to express a feeling of the originator through the controlled avatar, thereby enabling the originator to directly control the avatar included in received data. CONSTITUTION: When an originator starts controlling an avatar of a receiver(301), the originator presses a telephone number of the receiver and a special number for controlling the avatar of the receiver(302). When a call is connected, the receiver recognizes the transmitted telephone number and the special number, and remotely controls the avatar. A receiving terminal decides whether a specific number for identifying the avatar is inputted(303). If so, the receiving terminal decides whether an avatar character image is to be expressed(305). If so, the receiving terminal receives a data value for controlling the avatar from the originator(306), expresses the predetermined avatar character image on a terminal screen of the receiver(307), and completes the procedure(308).
