In the process according to the invention, the cosmetic product is mixed with at least one compound of the formula I <IMAGE> In this ester of the formula I, R is the radical of the terpene alcohol menthol, borneol, geraniol or citronellol. A preferred ester of the formula I is menthyl 2-pyrrolidone-5-carboxylate.
