The vehicle for spreading the liquid onto icy roads consists of a lorry with driver's cabin (5) and platform (6) supporting a tank (7) containing the brine, which is extracted by means of a pump (8) through a pipe (9) to a sprinkler (10) or to the top of the tank (7) through a return pipe (13). The pump (8) is driven by a small hydraulic motor (14) fed by a pipe (15) from a hydraulic pump (16) on the front of the vehicle. The hydraulic system incorporates a tank (20) supplying the hydraulic liquid to the pump by means of a filter (21) and pipe (22); and receiving the liquid from a main return pipe (23) and a return pipe (24). The tank (20) is connected by a pressure-release valve (25) to the feed pipe (15).
