Bituminous mat or felt for roofing felt - with thermoplastic elastomer added to bitumen to improve cold bending properties

Bituminous mat or felt is mfd. by coating a strip or sheet of foundation material with bitumen, for mfr. of roofing felt, in which the elongation of the foundation material comprises >5, pref. >10%. Pref. the foundation material consists of non-woven polyester. A thermoplastic elastomer is added to bitumen in a given quantity, pref. 10-15% so as to improve the cold blending properties of the bitumen by >=5 degrees C by the Fraas method. Both the bitumen and the foundation material have equally good stretch capacity at high and low temps.
