The building panel comprises a front part (1) secured at its rear to a metal sheet (2) capable of being nailed to a supporting structure. The edges of the sheet define tongues (4) projecting beyond the outline of the rectangular panel and being in this way accessible for the nailing operation. Adjacent its edges the panel is of reduced thickness to define between the panel and the sheet a groove n3) into which the tongue of the sheet of a neighbouring panel can be entered on assembly of the panel on the structure. The panel may be hollow, the sheet forming the rear wall.
