The heating cushion is constructed from an elastic material having an interior chamber into which a flowing medium may be directed by means of an inlet aperture. It is produced in such a way that the wall (11) which forms the flat side of the heating cushion has a large number of penetrating outlet apertures (10) of small dimension. A main feed channel (4) runs along the cushion with a series of smaller parallel adjacent component channels bounded by separator walls (8). They connect to the outlet apertures (10) on the flat wall (11) of the mat.
