The animal stall (1) section has four star-shaped farrowing bays extending along a diagonal of the stall and separated from each other by partitions. Several stall sections can be incorporated in rows. Where the axes of the stall sections intersect there is a central vertical column (5), supporting feeding troughs (6) in the shape of a circle segment. Around the central column is a radial ring (7) on which are sockets (8) into which are inserted metal pipes (9) for forming the bays. Sheet metal hoppers have outlets, each leading to a feeding trough. Incorporated in the central column is a central pipe (11) anchored in the ground and to the ceiling of the building, and conducting the water supply to the troughs.
