Algine treatment to improve water-dispersibility. Is carried out by mixing the algine with water, pref. with 3-500 kg water per 100 kg algine, esp. sodium alginate, until homogeneous algine particles are obtd. the particles may be dried and ground to a fine powder. They are useful in prodn. of jellies and may also be used in prepns. for preventing boiler scale, in wall paper adhesives, in printing materials and in soil treatment agents. |
