<p>The bicycle is powered by arm movements, the handlebars being in the form of cranks (11) attached to a chain wheel (12). This drives a chain (7) passing downwards onto the front wheel. The rear wheel is smaller than the front, providing a lower centre of gravity and permitting a shorter frame to be used. Foot operated brakes are fitted to the front wheel, an actuating lever (9) being mounted in foot rests (10) each side of the wheel below hub level. A standard bicycle front fork (1) is used, a threaded stem (2) on the cranks bearing block permitting height adjustments.</p> |
