The digital display for a wrist watch has spaced dots (1) inserted between adjacent numbers of the display. These dots optically divide the time display into different sets of time information. It can divide the time information from further data. The digital display may be used for a wrist watch with an additional calculator function. The fluidic crystal display pref has two characters indicating the hour of the day within a 24 hour cycle, followed by two characters indicating the minutes and two further characters for indicating the seconds or the date. A different number of dots may be inserted between each pair of characters.
