<p>1457892 Couplings for tubing SMITHS INDUSTRIES Ltd 16 April 1974 [16 April 1973] 18193/73 Heading F2G A coupling for an endotracheal tube 10, e.g. of polyvinyl chloride comprises a unitary moulding of polypropylene having a cup-shape body portion 2 with an internal tubular stem 3 extending from the base of the portion 2, the end of the stem 3 being turned back on itself to form a circumferential claw 8 to engage the inside of the tube 10 and resist its withdrawal. The body portion 2 of the coupling is made so as to fit within standard tubing used externally of a patient in anaesthesia and ears 9 on the coupling facilitate connection to such tubing. In an alternative embodiment the tubular stem extends outwardly from the base of the cupshape body portion 2.</p> |
