Contactor with AC connectable coil - has electronic control underneath module formed by coil and armature

The magnetic coil of the contactor has connecting terminals for an alternating voltage source and actuates a contactor armature. Underneath the module, formed by the magnetic coil and armature is mounted an electronic control device for the armature actuation. This control device has several input terminals, galvanically separated from the magnetic coil. Preferably the electronic control device is mounted in the contactor housing and the cast in resin. Alternately it can be housed in the contactor understructure. An operating contact and a rest contact may be connected as a pair to the control device input terminals. For safety reasons these terminals are of different construction to the contactor coil connecting terminals.
