PURPOSE: A wire electrode for electro discharge machining and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to improve surface roughness of workpiece by reducing fine particle for electro discharge machining and by increasing surface area. CONSTITUTION: A manufacturing method of a wire electrode(2) for electro discharge machining comprises: a step of providing wire rod which consists of a first diameter while consisting of a first metal as a core wire(21), a step of plating a second metal to the core wire and forming constant pattern wrinkle(24a) on fine line surface while forming fine line into a second diameter at the same time, and a step of heat-treating in order to form a first alloy layer(22) in boundary of the core wire and the second metal and a second alloy layer(23) in the outside.
