<p>The trough (1) is made of synthetic resin reinforced with glass fibre, and has a lid (2) in which is a hole (3) for the coffins to go through. The trough has very thin sides which are reinforced by vertical or horizontal ridges (5). The top rim is reinforced by a slight peripheral rim (6). The lid fits onto the trough along the edge (7). The sides of the trough have rings (9) at the same height and protruding from the outer surface. Wires (10) are twisted through the rings (9) to form reinforcements for the concrete. Rests (11) for the metal bars for supporting the coffins protrude from the outside and are sealed. The trough and lid are placed in the previously dug hole which is slightly bigger, and the bottom of which has been lined with a layer of cement concrete (8). Internal shuttering is next placed in position and the lid is fixed to the trough by plastics welding cords (12).</p> |
