An integrated circuit for a PCB uses a combination of components consisting of commercially available semiconduct diodes. It is suitable for high density packing as is required in logic circuits. The housing (g) is made from plastics and contains a number of diodes (D). The leads (Z) to the diodes are fed through the base of the housing and are separated by the minimum distance. The remaining space in the housing after insertion of the diodes is filled with insulated matter such as casting resin. Basically the dimensions of the housing will be a multiple of the layout dimensions of the printed circuit board. This means that several of these potted modules can be mounted next to each other or behind one another on the PCB.
