Hydrostatic drive with resilient output coupling - has cooler to counteract low heat transfer through coupling

Drive has a resilient coupling between the hydraulic meter and a driven machine with a view to damping vibrations. The rubber elements of the coupling prevent cooling by heat transfer from the meter to the machine which may be a ships propeller. The hydrostatic drive has chambers for collecting and cooling leakage oil from the pump and the meter unit respectively. The drive and motor units are spaced apart and the pump chamber connected to the motor chamber, and latter is connected through a cooler to a sump from which the oil is returned to the pump.
