Mould boxes for foundry use - with thickened edge zones made by hot working edges of intermediate cold formed strip

Mould boxes for foundry purposes with walls formed from sheet sections having longitudinal corrugations formed by cold deformation have edge strips whose profile thickness at least exceeds that of the sheet sections. A process for mfr. of such mould boxes forms the edge strips by hot deformation of sheet sections cold formed to make an intermediate prod. The boxes are produced at low cost and have a favourable combination of form strength and endurance.
