<p>The shaft seal has a ring-shaped housing and a flexible seat component which is of the lip sealing type for positioning against a shaft, and which is connected with the housing. This defines a ring-shaped recess between itself and the housing and/or the connecting component (26). A ring (20) of elastomer material is provided which can only be firmly connected with the housing and/or the connecting component (26). It fills out the ring-shaped recess, and pushes outwards so that the sealing element (14) is deformed backwards and forwards against the shaft, in opposition to the elastometric ring.</p> |
