1475355 Vibration measurement KUREHA KAGAKU KOGYO KK 7 Aug 1974 [8 Aug 1973] 34883/74 Heading G1G [Also in Division H4] A probe for detecting or measuring vibration of an object comprises a Piezo-electric polymer film having thin metal electrodes deposited on both its surfaces, with a flexible sound-absorbent material covering one electrode. The other electrode is coupled directly, or via a very thin protective or electrically-insulating film, to the object. Spurious sound waves from the object's surroundings are absorbed by the flexible material. In the embodiment described, examples of materials used for the polarized Piezo-electric film, the electrodes and the sound-absorbent covering are specified. The probe output signal is fed via an FET impedance conversion circuit to a voltmeter and/or ammeter, recorder, oscillograph, computer or alarm.
