Soil improvement with porous solid and fertiliser - esp. in the form of pumice stone

Soil improvement is effected by treating the soil with fragments of a porous solid and at least traces of fertiliser. The porous solid is pref. a natural rock contg. traces of fertiliser components, esp. pumice stone. It can be applied as a surface mulch or an be dug in. The particle size is pref. 6-12 mm. The treatment improves the circulation of air, moisture and microorganisms in the soil and increases the effectiveness of fertilisers used at low concns.
