The coin cashing safety device has one or more slots and a right-angled coin channel. It protects against fraudulent use such as pulling out an inserted coin with the aid of a thread after the cashing operation has been initiated. A narrow gap (13) is provided in the entrance between the upper (2) and lower sections (4) of the coin channel (1). It allows only the thread (15) to pass but not the coin (14). A thread deflection device (10) is arranged in the proximity of the exit. It causes the thread (15) and the suspended coin (14) to stick above the opening to the cashing device when the thread (15) is pulled back.
