The mains voltage U is taken as being constant. Delta is the magnet wheel angel, and phi the load angle. A display device (4) receives voltages from the two DC machines, and determines from them the angles delta and phi, and displays them. It also delivers additional operational variables, such as excitation current, machine current, its active and reactive components and active and reactive powers.
