<p>A pump is secured to a bicycle so that is cannot be removed by an unauthorised person, and retained by a spherical joint so that a tyre can be inflated whilst the pump is still attached to the cycle. The bottom of the pump (12) fits into a sleeve (11) and the top is retained by a conventional lug on the bicycle frame, so that the pump is parallel to the cycle frame when not in use. Two plates (5,5') clamped around the frame member (2) include a pocket (9) between them forming a seating for a ball portion (10) extending from the sleeve (11). By disengaging the top of the pump, the sleeve and pump can then be swivelled to a position for inflating the tyre. The connecting tube to the tyre fits into a side outlet (14) at the bottom of the sleeve.</p> |
