Cladding of a continuous moving fabric with a layer of foamed or unfoamed watery plastic and/or rubber dispersion is claimed. When the cladding layer has been applied the electrical conductivity of the cladding mass is measured continuously during the next phase of the treatment process. The system provides a constant quality control of the cladding process, giving a continuous adjustment of the cladding to prevent faulty fabrics being developed, and to prevent unnecessarily long dwell times in the drier which would impose high temp. on the mass.
