<p>A fluid flow regulator has a follow cylindrical housing having inlet and outlet parts and an insert supporting an O-ring (31) and press. disc (35) is designed for improved regulation and noise characteristics. The O-ring (31) and insert (10) form a centrol gap for the fluid, the O-ring heing compressed into the gap by fluid pressure. The conductance and noise characteristics of such regulators can be degraded by friction between the O-ring and the surfaces of the insert. THis is overcome by providing a further control gap between the inner wall (33) of the insert casing (11) and the outer surface (32) of the O-ring.</p> |
