A removable cap having a substantially flat part 11 provided with a plurality of chambers, tightly abuts the shell 10 in use, each contact member 21 being received in a respective chamber. The cap also includes a flexible clamp 12 that is integral with part 11 and extends over the shell 10 and is held thereto by elastic engangement therewith. Respective edges of the shell and cap abut, at least one of the edges being non-linear. As described, the edge 100 of the shell 10 is non-linear by virtue of notches which are situated above chambers in the shell 10 that receive the contact members 21. Leads soldered to the contact members 21 may then be lead from the connector via these notches and a gap that is defined by the shell and the cap. Each member 21 may be U-shaped in cross-section. |
