The electronic circuit for controlling the angle of advance of the ignition of an internal combustion consists of a number of sensors arranged in fixed angular position around the starter ring of the flywheel. In addition there is a sensor which measures the pressure in the inlet manifold and another sensor which measures the temperature of the cooling water. The information from these sensors is fed to a computer which calculates the required angle of ignition advance. The computer is supplied with numerical constants which depend upon engine speed, manifold pressure and cooling water temperature. These constants are stored in an electronic memory forming part of the circuit.
|
