<p>Process for titrating a liq. having an ionic concn. involves altering the sonic concn. by passage of an electric current. The current so passed id then a measure of the litre. The measurement can be done continuously and the current passed is controlled in proportion to the measured ion concn., i.e. when the measured ionic concn. reaches the titration equivalent, the current passing through the liquid is proportional to the titre. The ion being titrated can be removed by electro-chemical means. An ion to form a complex with that in the liq. can be introduced electro-chemically. The liq. is passed continuously through a posn. of electric current to modify if and subsequently passed over the test electrodes.</p> |
