The rotor (1) for a centrifugal fan has a hub (4) which carries an even number of curved radial blades (2). The hub is mounted by spokes on a boss (4) to form passages for the inlet air. The depths of the surfaces (3) between the blades (2) are alternately deep and shallow, the depth being either one third or two thirds of the rotor length. This alteration of the depth of the radial passage between the blades (2) provides an even flow of air along the whole axial length of the rotor. The rotor is a one piece plastic moulding and is provided with a central boss (5) for mounting on a shaft.
