High-tension water-cooled electric cable - has polyethylene or ethylene-propylene rubber insulation and metal shield

A high tension electric cable with liq., esp. water cooling comprises an inner pipe, for the coolant, a conducting layer for conductors disposed outside (alternatively inside) the pipe and, outsise this again, a plastics insulating sleeve, further surrounded by a screen, which is embedded in a shield furnished with a sepg. layer; outside this sepg. layr, there is an external casing of plastics, esp. polyethylene or PVC. The shield is pref. of round Cu wires, Cu strips or Cu wires of specific cross-section, or alternatively a metal, esp. Al or Pb sleeve. The sepg. layer is pref. of bituminised paper or of bitumen or other anticorrosion agent. No oil-filling, with the accompanying necessary auxiliary pressure-maintaining equipment etc., is required.
