<p>An apparatus is claimed for inserting the weft in a wire weaving loom, where a gripper shuttle draws out the metal wire from a stationary supply reel. A pivoted clamp unit, turning on an axis which is parallel to the warps, is an angles piece with a horizontal and vertical flank. The horizontal flank is fitted with a clamp to accept the weft from the trap of the shuttle. The clamp unit is moved in a swing action. The design allows the securing action of the weft to be incorporated within the body of the shuttle, the swing action of the clamp unit in the vertical plane of the shuttle allowing it to pass in and out and for the weft to be correctly presented to be caught by the shuttle.</p> |
