The movement of a shaft mounted lever is converted into rotary movement of the shaft, e.g. for vehicle window operation. The lever has a pair of ratchet side arms (7, 8) on the end of a push-rod (4) in a slot in the lever (1). The side-arms fulcrums lie on an axis (9) parallel to the shaft (3). Diagonally opposite pawls (10 & 11; 12 & 13) engage the gearwheels (14, 15) in pairs, as the arms pivot in opposition to each other. One wheel (14) is fixed and the other (15) is free to rotate on the shaft according to movements of a reverse gear system consisting of bevel wheels (16, 17, 18), one of which (16) is connected to the free gear wheel (15). Pawl pairs behave either as pawls or ratchets according to direction of rotation of the lever (1).
|
