<p>A valve for a high pressure gas bottle with a closure disc (6) of synthetic material fitted to the lower part (7) of the valve spindle, and movable axially by the spindle inside a chamber (9) to contact the valve seat (5) has the chamber sealed in a fluid and gas tight manner by a rubber hose (10) around the end of the spindle. The hose has at its valve seat end, an extension (14) projecting over the lower part (7), to which the disc (6) is fitted. Any expansion in the direction at right angles to the spindle axis, of the disc (6) in its closed position is limited by the extension 14) and by a very flexible metal sheet (15) around it. The alloy from which this sheet is made is specified. It is vulcanised or adhesively secured to the plastics extension (14).</p> |
