<p>The pile threads are inserted, a row at a time, into the adhesive that held them in place. Using threads of different colours, a pattern of stripes could have been produced. In the addition, some rows are to be displaced laterally, thus converting the stripes into squares or rectangles. For the displaced rows, the clamp that holds the row of threads will be moved sideways by a pneumatic piston, which, in its turn, will be controlled by microswitches working an electro-magnetic valve. The microswitches are operated by pegs at the circumference of a disc which revolves once every twelve rows.</p> |
