Gasoline containing added tetramethyl and/or tetraethyl lead can be treated by disposing the resin in a fuel storage system or in a fuel feed system. Many suitable ion-exchange resins, which can be derived from copolymers of divinylbenzene with ethylvinylbenzene and/or styrene, are exemplified.
